When PTD started out on the trail today it was cloudy, a few sprinkles and comfortable. Not humid and no threatening skies like the past few days.
He traveled through the Washington Monument state park. He got to see the 1st monument built for George Washington. It is bottle shaped. Lot smaller than the one in DC but still a good size.
He sat upon a rocky ledge and had lunch. He could see mountains on one side and farm lands on the others. Said it was cool because of the way the clouds were.
At about 6pm PTD crossed the Mason Dixon line from MD into PA. PTD Is in PA!!!
He has now completed GA, NC, TN, VA, WV, & MD -- 6 states down
PTD still has PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, VT, NH, ME to go ---8 states still to go
PTD is excited to be having lunch w/some friends from NH that live near the Caladonia State Park in Fayetteville, Pa. We work w/Linda & Gary at the Bretton Woods Ski Area. Very nice people.
Dave is staying at Deer Lick Shelter tonight – 28.4 miles today on the AT
