Ponytail said he got his water alright. About 3:30am the skies let loose and it poured buckets. His tent was ready to float away it came down so hard. His seams leaked. Now everything in the tent is wet. Good thing he will be in Rutland tomorrow at the Long Trail so he can dry some things out. He is excited too, he will be meeting his friend Theo. Somehow he managed eventually to fall back asleep.
He woke early. Put his went tent in the garbage bag and back in his pack along w/other wet items. The small streams were now raging rivers. Good news he won't need to ration water today.
There was also another stream(now a river) that he went around instead of trying to go through it. Add another 1-1/2 miles for that. Moose and Tetherball managed to forge it. Took there boots off and carefully walked across the slippery water covered rocks. This must have been quite tough w/their packs on too. Remember their packs weigh about 40 lbs each.
Says he had drowning rains in the morning. As the day progressed it stopped raining but it got even more humid and more buggy. Like that was possible.
Ponytail stayed at Cooper lodge which is an enclosed stone shelter almost to the top of Killing ton (ski area).
Traveled 18.9 miles + 1 1/2 going around stream ( 20.4)
Hit the less than 500 mile mark to get to the top of Katahdin

Was kinda hoping you werent having the melting heat that we were...between the heat slowing ya down and the detours around raging stream... Vermont must seem and long as Virginia, espcially now that your closing in on home. keep happy!! lots of luv to ya
